I will help you understand your inner parts using the Internal Family Systems (IFS) method.
A new perspective on what is happening inside you...

IFS (Internal Family Systems)
We are all familiar with situations in life where one part of us wants to do something, while another part wants something entirely different. You might wish to possess certain qualities, or conversely, long for certain traits or behavioral patterns to disappear.
IFS (Internal Family Systems) is based on the idea that we are composed of various parts—each with its own unique perspective and qualities—and that this is completely normal. Due to past traumas, these parts are often forced into extreme or unnatural roles.
Instead of suppressing them, we seek to understand them and build a relationship with them. Gradually, we become aware of the different parts of our system, listen to their wounds, stories, and pain, and help them understand and release what no longer serves them. We do not work against our parts, but rather with them; we offer them space, support, and presence.
At their core, all parts are good. They hold a positive intention for the entire system, even if they have become stuck in past roles and traumatic situations. Often, they do not realize that we are now adults and that circumstances have changed.
Frequently asked questions
💛 What is Internal Family Systems (IFS)?
During an IFS (Internal Family Systems) session, we work on identifying and understanding the parts of your system that are overactive and require your attention. We never force these parts to do anything. Instead, we help them by engaging in a dialogue—rather than analyzing them—waiting for their responses, and striving to understand them.
IFS is, therefore, a method of working with parts. It is based on the premise that every person possesses a "Self"—an unblemished essence. This is the deepest core of the individual, present within us all. The Self acts as a wise and compassionate inner guide capable of healing our internal system.
The Self can help our parts become less extreme and return to their natural roles. It manifests through qualities such as curiosity, compassion, calmness, and connectedness.
In IFS, we distinguish between three main types of parts: Exiles, Managers, and Firefighters. You can learn more about these specific parts in my free course, IFS Fundamentals, which includes a theoretical section and four guided meditations.
Let’s look at an example: An Exile might be a shamed inner child carrying a wound from a past experience of being bullied at school. To avoid feeling this pain, a Manager part takes control and begins avoiding social situations or groups where the bullying might recur.
In this scenario, a Firefighter might manifest as, for instance, alcohol addiction, serving to distract from painful feelings of shame.
💛 What if I'm not ready to talk about what happened?
If you aren’t ready to talk—or even think—about what happened or what is going on in your life, that is perfectly fine; it is no reason to skip a session.
Working with parts does not mean you have to describe your problem in detail or recount everything that happened. I can guide you through the process without you sharing specific details, as the focus is primarily on communicating and connecting with your inner parts.
💛 What does an IFS session look like?
During the session, we will tune into your inner world and look at your current life challenge. Together, we will identify the parts associated with this challenge that require your attention, gradually exploring them in greater depth.
You will have the space to explore parts of your system that play more extreme roles and to gain a better understanding of them.
The result is greater self-compassion, a deeper connection with yourself, and the gradual healing of past emotional wounds. You may also gain a new perspective on your situation or begin to view the issues you are facing in a different light.
